The Lawn Mower Yogi video by tahl rinsky

I've had  allot of comments about the a video I posted on Instagram a while back of Jasper my son mowing the law's while I practice yoga. To be honest I've watched this video over and over myself cracking up each time. I cannot think of a better way to represent the ife of a busy mom who is desperately trying to find some time for things she loves to do or in my case the things that keep her sane. Searching for a moment of peace in the never ending noise that is parenting.

I woke up that Sunday morning and thought I'll take my mat out to the deck and do a quick practice before the kids are running around; of course within 5 minutes they decided that the best thing to do would be mow the lawns something they learned from their nana - a hard working, lawn mowing unstoppable women. Of course I didn't want to crush their little hearts after they discovered another new and exciting thing they are good at. I decided to enjoy the absurdity of trying to withdraw my senses through the practice of Pratyahara while listening to a lawn mower 2M away from my mat. I must say the practice wasn't as rewarding as I'de hoped but jeez the video came out awesome.

Here is the full length version for you to enjoy.

The Solar Plexus Chakra - Manipura by tahl rinsky

Solar Plexus chakra – Manipura  |  Color: Yellow

Is located in the center of the abdomen and is the source of our personal power – ‘I CAN ‘. It is the ‘seat’ of the ego, the home for passion, impulse, anger and strength. When this chakra is open and clear we feel confident in who we are. We feel ready to take on new challenges with excitement and joy. Physical outcomes resulting from blockage includes poor digestion and liver function, diabetes, nervous exhaustion and food allergies. Balancing the Solar Plexus chakra allows you to be more aware of your own energy and being, comfortable in your decisions, and psychically connected to your “gut” feelings so that you may act accordingly with confidence.

Muladhara - The Root Chakra by tahl rinsky

I've teamed up with YogoGirls this month for an instagram collaboration. It's pretty damn obvious we both like to get a bit artsy with our interpretation and exploration of yoga so we thought what better than looking at balancing out chakras ? Each chakra has a color and specific group of yoga poses associated with it which leaves plenty of room for creative interpretation and we love to get creative!

Follow our accounts @YogoGirls  @trinskyyoga for all the details.

Root chakra – Muladhara  |  Color: Red

Located at the base of the spine and related to our basic need for survival, safety and security. It is the sense of ‘I HAVE’.
When the muladhara is blocked we can feel anxious, insecure and frustrated. We often victimize ourselves and find it hard to stand in our power, feeling like we don’t belong anywhere. Physical ailments like constipation, weak bones, and knee problems are associated with this chakra.  The male’s sexual organs are located in this chakra, which could be the reason why, for men, sex is primarily a physical response. A healthy root chakra promotes feelings of security and encourages exploration to find your life's purpose and achieve success.  A balanced root chakra also generates the flow of energy to all other chakras.
