Module 1: The Joy of Sanskrit (1 day)
This lively seminar is for anyone interested in deepening their experience of the yoga scriptures by reading directly from significant passages. Sanskrit, the language of these scriptures, contains not only the highest knowledge about yoga and the processes of human consciousness, but also carries within itself the secrets of the power of sound. Whether you are merely looking at improving your pronunciation of the name of yoga asanas, or to dive more deeply into the intricacies of this fascinating language, the Joy of Sanskrit Seminar will provide you with an entryway into the joy of the Sanskrit language. The Joy of Sanskrit Seminar employs a very user-friendly methodology that allows participants to naturally absorb grammar through translation, instead of mind-numbing memorization. From the beginning, participants discover the joy of understanding passages directly. The seminar includes an introduction to the language and its history, instruction and practice into the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit sounds, translation of texts and mantras, practice into the pronunciation of common yoga terms, questions and answers, etc.
Module 2: The Radiant Manifestations of Yoga Devas (4 days)
The “Shining Ones”, the devas or so-called deities of the various Yoga traditions encode within their forms profound and powerful teachings about the nature and applications of Yoga in our daily lives. Throughout history, they have spoken loud and clear, inspiring generation after generation of seekers and practitioners. Bridging a gap of centuries and continents, this workshop will be a fascinating exploration of several key archetypes, delving into the power of symbols, helping us uncover layers of meaning as well as applications to enrich our own modern lives. It will combine informed
and engaging discussions and presentations with asana practice, contemplation, group discussion and meditation sessions. Our goal is to demystify, to inform and, above all, to inspire.
